US Open 2016: Best Dressed Ladies - Loves

Here are the ladies looks who aced the 2016 US Open. 

The NYC tournament featured a number of ladies who stood out in neon hues and bold designs. 


These ladies showed up in their very best looks for the last major tournament of 2016. 
2016 US Open Loves: 

1. Angelique Kerber

Angelique showed up in NYC ready to claim the #1 ranking that eluded her earlier in the summer.  The 2016 US Open champion, Olympic silver medalist, Australian Open champion, and Wimbledon runner-up, had a stand-out year and  stood out under NYC's bright lights. 
2. Venus Williams

Venus designed a great kit for her 18th US Open run. She was defeated in the Round of 16, but was able to showcase her evolving style for 4 rounds in NYC. Looking forward to seeing what Eleven by Venus design she'll be wearing at the 2017 US Open. 

















3. Madison Keys


Madison rocked Nike Court's neon look at the tournament. 
















4. Garbine Muguruza


The 2016 Roland Garros champion had a short stint in NYC after being eliminated in the 2nd round.  Garbine wore one of the more flattering Adidas by Stella McCartney kits which featured soft pastels in contrast to the neon which was prevalent on the court. 


5. Karolina Pliskova


The 2016 US Open runner up looked classic and cool as a cucumber over the fortnight in NYC.  Karolina's ink suggests a wild-side and we look forward to see what she'll be sporting in 2017.
















6. Alison Riske



Allison had an abbreviated 1-match stay at the US Open. However, her black and white accentuated with hot pink accessories made her standout under the lights of Arthur Ashe.

US Open 2018: Welcome Back & New Logo

Well...it's been 2 years hasn't it. That's what heading to grad school will do to a person. Sometimes the axiom, 'the more things change, the more they stay the same,' rings true. But sometimes, as with the case of the US Open's new logo, one steps away, and comes to find that things have gone completely awry. Is this Arial font? Are these letters lower case? Really, in this political climate, lower case US? Is lower case an affront to becoming great again? Also, is this logo actually in Arial Italics? According to the USTA, "t he logo created by renowned graphic design firm Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv, is a streamlined and modernized version of the tournament’s iconic flaming ball logo, which was first introduced in 1997." Australian Open 2022: Welcome Back

It's been a while, hasn't it. Where to even begin with the crazy 2022 Australian Open! 2 thoughts for your consideration on Day 2. The deuces are wild.  1. The ATP is facing a leadership vacuum: L'Affair Djokovic took the air out of the tournament over the preceding fortnight. During that period, the ATP was notably silent regarding the ongoings and detainment of its top star.  Several players did speak up, including Rafael Nadal, who spoke eloquently about the need to move on. However, it wasn't clear if Rafa was backed up by his teammates. For a decade plus, Roger Federer has been the voice of reason within in the ATP tour. He was the consummate diplomate and his absence during this wild chapter, was felt.  2. The pundits didn't understand the legal proceedings that Djokovic was facing and provided bad commentary:  Novak Djokovic's faced two judicial meetings in his quest to remain in Australia to play for his 21st Major title. 2015 Preview - 10 Pro Tennis Storylines, Questions, and Predictions

We are a few hours away from the 2015 Australian Open Women's Final featuring Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams.  GlamSpinTennis was awfully prescient about the storylines, questions, and predictions that permeated throughout 2014 ( 2014 ATP Predictions ) ( 2014 WTA Predictions ).
