One of GlamSpinTennis's favorite parts of any major is the pre-tournament players party. Realistically, the players are contractually obligated to show up, mingle with sponsors and B-list celebrities. They also have to look pretty on the red carpet all while giving the side eye to the people they'll be competing against over the upcoming fortnight.
These parties are a great way to see your favorite player's real sense of style outside of their usual sportswear. Or, you get a sense of who has the smarts to hire a stylist to pick out their outfits (ahem....Maria)......
Admittedly, these player parties take place every week, all over the globe, at the start of every tournament. However, there's just something special about the atmosphere at the pre-major fetes.
The Australian Open 2014 Player Party was surely no different. The fiesta was held at the Crown Towers in Melbourne on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
